Great photo of the moon! What lens did you use? I saw this very same moon last night, over the Montauk Lighthouse on Long Island ( The End ). We stayed in Montauk for 2 days to see the lighting of the Lighthouse last night. Although it was in the 40's, the wind at the end of the island is intense, making it feel like 20! But it was fun.
I used a 300mm zoomed all the way out with a 1.7 teleconverter on a Sony Alpha 100 which has a 1.5 multiplier to 35mm equivalent and I cropped it by about half the image. That would be equivalent to about 1500mm lens on a regular 35 mm camera.
I am a retired nuclear engineer. I've been looking through one kind of viewfinder or another since I was about 12 years old. I've finally decided, in my retirement, to learn how to take a photograph.
