Speeding Through Mt. Laurel

Our photography small group from Church of the Highlands met at the planned community of Mt. Laurel outside Birmingham. A good time was had by all, but I was a little disappointed in my own photos for the evening (others had some great shots). This was my favorite from mine that evening.

The Way

The inspiration for this week for the Catchlight Photography small group is "The Way." This is an old photo, but I thought it appropriate to the theme.

Light

Our Catchlight Small Group from church has decided to try a theme to interpret and share photos periodically as an inspirational tool. The first theme is one of the many words used to represent Jesus: "light," but a word which has several different meanings and interpretations. Here's mine.

Light Trails

At the Catchlight Small Group meeting last night, we went out to try our hand at some light trails.  I tried adjusting my shot several times to get some interesting scenery with trails through it, but when I got them in the computer and got the crop tool going, I decided I liked this one with just the basics, the road, the divider, and the lights, especially those flashing LED tail lights.

Ruffner Mountain Sunset

The Catchlight small group from Church of the Highlands hiked up Ruffner Mountain last evening to watch and photograph the sunset

and the lights of Birmingham coming on.

I had some trouble with lens internal reflections of the specular lights (I believe because of the UV filter on the front, but not yet confirmed) but a few came out usable.
