Weekend Reflections

Last January we were briefly at the Dallas Zoo with the grandkids and their parents - our kids 8-).  This pool at part of the lemur exhibit had a wonderful sky and trees reflection.

Weekend Reflections: Birmingham, Alabama from Railroad Park

This is Birmingham, Alabama reflected in the pond at Railroad Park near downtown and Regions Field, home of the Birmingham Barons baseball team.

This is one frame from the time lapse I put together here, and except for minor sharpening is straight out of the camera.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Weekend Reflections: Japanese Gardens

The classic photo everyone takes when they visit the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, perhaps with a young couple walking across.  I was there, so I did.

Have a nice weekend and visit other Weekend Reflections here.

Weekend Reflections: Heardmont Park

The reflections in the creek at Heardmont Park in Hoover, Alabama are almost completely covered by newly fallen leaves, and there are plenty more yet to fall.

Weekend Reflections: Moon and Saturn (oops, Venus)

The moon and Saturn reflect in the Gulf of Mexico at Fort Walton Beach, Florida, October 7, 2013.  (My dumb mistake, I thought it was Saturn, looked it up, and it is Venus.  Even after looking it up, I went ahead and typed Saturn anyway.  Duhh.  Saturn was on the other side of the moon and had already set.)  See other reflections at Weekend Reflections.

Weekend Reflections

All the parents, except my son, sit on the steps and wait while their children play in the huge sandbox outside the children's area at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas.

Weekend Reflections: Downtown Birmingham

Some of the downtown Birmingham department store buildings have been restored and re-purposed, but alas, this one has not.  Seems a shame, but I'm sure it's all economics.  See more Weekend Reflections here.

Foggy

After a couple of good rain showers the last couple of days, and with the temperature down slightly, this morning was quite foggy when we looked down the driveway.
I got dressed, packed up the camera, and headed out to see what I could see and show you.  I stopped at the corner in the drive and looked into the neighbor's garden.  Fortunately, the barbed wire caught only my eye.
I knew a great deal of our fog was caused by Lay Lake, which is less than two miles away, so I headed that way.
Near the lake there are some beautiful horse farms.  These two were enjoying their early morning breakfast.
The fog was really thick at the boat launch and dock.
I wouldn't want to speed off into this.  Who knows what's out there?

I decided to try this one on Weekend Reflections, my first entry there.  Really it's only the last two photos.
