The challenge over at 2 Things this week is Stare/Star.
If you stare at a star for long enough, and don't blink, and don't move, the star will draw a circle for you, or at least part of one. If you click the photo for a larger view, you might see some of the dimmer arcs too.

This is a totally awesome photo. It is easy to get lost in it... Starring into the night skies.

Trippy photo, Eeyore. Love it!
I can't usually see the stars here at all. Too close to the city, I guess. Makes me nostalgic for country life.
Wow....great photo! Please do tell how you accomplished this.
Wonderful stare trails, they are fun to shoot.
It's easy. Put the camera on a tripod, point it at the north star, and shoot, except you have to leave the shutter open for a LONG time. This one was ISO 100, f 2.8, for 6 minutes. 12 minutes is even better, except my camera starts to get pixels that go white with very long exposures.
Rob at North Metro photo has a technique for combining multiple exposures for even longer star trails, but I don't remember the details.
