Our house, which sits in the middle of the woods, has several large plate glass windows. Every few days we'll hear a loud thump as another bird smacks himself into the window, even when we have the blinds down so it clearly looks like an obstacle. More often than not, they merely stun themselves, leave a few feathers on the glass, and are gone by the time we can get there.
Occasionally, however, they are either more stunned and sit there for a while, or are injured to the point the cat causes them to disappear. I hate it when that happens, but Niko rather enjoys it, I think.

Red Chested Big Mouth
We were visited by a couple of Rose-breasted Grosbeaks about two weeks ago. We don't often see these here.

2 Things Challenge: Costume/Gesture
The challenge at 2 Things this week is Costume/Gesture.
Last weekend I was in Orlando for the wedding of my youngest son, and while there we took the opportunity to take a couple of the grandkids, along with their parents and other relatives, to Disney World. When it comes to costumes, that is a target rich environment, and there were plenty of gestures to observe too.

2 Things Challenge: Chin/Cheek
Our challenge this week at 2 Things Challenge is Chin/Cheek.
I've never thought of dogs as having much in the way of a chin, but if you use your imagination, I guess some could be said to have at least a smidgeon of a chin.
But one thing I definitely know is that some dogs have an overabundance of cheek.
